History
Tyne Velo road cycling club :

Breaking away from the Blaydonian cycle club, Tyne velo was founded way back in 1946 Perhaps it was their meeting place above Mrs morpeths "tripe shop" on Church street that prompted the departure ? However the first venue for Tynevelo club meetings was shared with Newburn pigeon club.

Other meeting places for club business were Harford house on the end of Delacour road, Blaydon. Next was the old air raid shelter on Shibdon road, Blaydon. The "Mary Bessie" on Burn road, Blaydon. St. Pauls church hall Scotland head - Winlaton, Finally the Tyne velo moved to its present home at the Blaydon rugby club on Hexam Road.
