RELIABILITY RIDE (Back after popular demand)
The Tyne Velo cycling club Reliability ride If you would like any detail about the Ride please contact Jim Howie jimhowievelo@fsmail.net the course will be finalised early in the new year but will probably be the same or similar to the last time it was ran. Food stops for those who like to enjoy cycling and eat as well So to everyone who enjoyed the ride in years past get your forms in saver the lovely Northumbrian country side and hopefully some good weather.

TYNE VELO open reliability rides SUNDAY 20TH MAY 2012 the Tyne velo again promotes thesepopular cycling rides. The format for the 2012 event will be the same as in the previous years, which have proved to be the most popular and rewarding amongst the riders who have taken part in previous years. The members of the Tyne velo, and helpers for this years "reliability" are all looking forward to seeing regular, and meeting new riders to the event.And to make this years rides as enjoyable and great to take part as ever.

Ride A 100 miles in 6 hours Average Speed 16.7 mph
Ride B 100 miles in 7 hours average speed 14.3 mph
Ride C 100 miles in 8 hours Average speed 12.5 mph
Ride D 75 miles in 5 hours Average speed 15.0 mph
Ride E 75 miles in 6 hours Average speed 12.25 mph
Ride F 50 miles in 4 hours Average speed 12.05 mph
THESE ARE ACTUAL RIDING TIMES: There are also 2 compulsory ten minute time control stops where snacks will be provided. and the main forty minute lunch stop where food will be provided. There will be drinks and snacks at the finishing venue, after signing out.
THESE RIDES ARE NOT CYCLE RACES
But reliability trials. These rides will bring out the best in fit and competant riders,riding sensibly on well maintained bikes It is not necessary to be a club cyclist to take part often unattached riders take part in there first 100 mile ride.
The challenge is to complete your chosen route within a 5% route of your chosen time. there is a minimum age of 18 years for these rides. Entry forms and further details enclosed. NOVICE OR NON CLUB RIDERS PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND PAGE 2 BEFORE COMPLETING THE ENTRY FORM.
Novice or non club riders For solo or non club riders entering this event you need to understand that these reliability trials will take riders of a good standard of physical fitness and capability on a reliable well maintained cycle. The routes start and finish at blaydon youth club. where within 5 miles riders are in the rural lanes of Northumberland. Riders start and ride in a group of between 6 - 20 riders the rides are within 25 mile stages. The first stop is Humshaugh for the first compulsory control / time check and snacks and drinks.
